Her professional journey began immediately after earning her bachelor's degree, working with youth and families impacted by trauma, particularly those involved in the child welfare system. Recognizing the need to deepen her impact on families of color, Toyia pursued her Master’s in Social Work with a focus on youth, families, and schools. She has been a licensed clinical social worker since 2007 and has amassed over two decades of experience supporting youth, families, and young adults within various educational frameworks.
Since 2014, Toyia has embraced mindfulness as a core component of her holistic practice, which also includes meditation, yoga, reiki, and womb healing. Her personal mission centers on informing, educating, and supporting transformative emotional health improvements, especially within Black and Brown communities. At TMS Wellness and Counseling Services, she works with all adults, with special emphasis on women and couples, offering a compassionate, integrative approach to mental wellness.
